Beauty and the Beast

Set to Rachmaninoff’s classic music, Beauty and the Beast tells a tale as old as time. When Beauty’s father loses the family investment at sea, he seeks work elsewhere. He comes across a forgotten castle where he picks beautiful roses. Unbeknownst to the father, the castle houses a terrifying beast. When the beast finds the father picking flowers, he makes a deal with the old man. One of the father’s daughters comes to live with him in exchange for allowing the father to live. Beauty bravely volunteers. Once at the castle, she learns the beast is not as scary as she once thought. From there, they continue to fall in love and their love transforms the beast back into a beautiful prince.

This new ballet was choreographed by Front Range Classical Ballet Academy Director Ixchel Levendosky and performed by students of all ages and levels, shown at the Lincoln Center Magnolia Theater in June 2025.
